 2025 Market Update 

The Fed has indicated it may not lower rates much this year since economic indicators and job reports remain strong. So far this year the average mortgage rate for a conventional loan is between 6 3/4 and 7%. However, lower rates ARE currently offered by some lenders.

For some perspective, the 30 year mortgage rate in the United States averaged 7.72 percent from 1971 until 2025 so current rates are considered fairly "normal". 
In real estate, we have a saying - "Date the rate, marry the house." Putting your life on hold while waiting for the market to change may not serve you well if prices continue to rise. You can always refinance if rates come down.

Buying tips:

- Drive your own car to the showings rather than riding with your agent.

- Wear gloves and/or a mask while touring a home. (I can provide gloves & masks.)

Selling tips:

- Sellers can request that buyers wear masks, gloves, & remove their shoes or wear shoe covers. I can provide these things for buyers and agents visiting your home.

- Turn on all lights and open closet/pantry doors before every showing.

- As always, leave the home before each showing.
